The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes a living by carrying out hit-and-runs for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer, who follows him on a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier generation model.

Then I saw the trailers and my excitement grew even more

Referenced in Graham Norton and guests: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). I’ve been eagerly awaiting The Day of the Jackal since I first heard about it. Well, after seeing it I can say that it definitely lived up to my expectations.

I was wrong because he absolutely killed it

Everyone already knows what a great actor Eddie Redmayne is, but I still had my doubts about him playing this role. He plays the anti-hero perfectly here and makes you root for him to succeed. This series is best binge-watched because I can promise you that when you finish one episode, you can’t wait to start the next one.

I definitely recommend this series

When Redmayne’s character (The Jackal) is on a mission, you’re on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The Jackal reminds me of a James Bond spy character gone bad. A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
