Read all. This movie was extremely simple-minded and vulgar, making it feel like an American comedy. I can see an American remake in its future.

Not this one

This was quite refreshing for a French comedy, although not the type I prefer. French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly become dead serious before the end. No one has a hidden aspect – Benoit remains awkward and fearful from start to finish.

His siblings are greedy and downright evil

Fake Fiance has no social graces from start to finish. Only the parents are the same standard rich and confused couple you see in most French comedies. They were the least interesting because their arc is completely predictable in such films.

Its future will be like the standard Sunday night movie on French TV

I’m glad I have an unlimited movie pass, though, because movie ticket prices have gotten so high that I wouldn’t be happy if I spent a lot of money on it.
