The family is convinced that they are not alone after moving to a new house in the suburbs. Although the film was well received at the Sundance Film Festival, some viewers were turned away by its intensity. What begins as a slow-burning mystery quickly turns into a dizzying journey that blurs the line between reality and paranoia. The pace is perfect, slowly building tension, but at the same time it does not seem drawn out. The standout aspect of Presence is its atmosphere. Cinematography and sound design create an unsettling mood that keeps you on edge. Every creak, shadow and eerie silence heightens the tension, making you feel that something terrifying could happen at any moment. The acting of the actors is reliable. Although the plot may not break new ground in terms of horror, it is the execution that sets Presence apart. The film knows how to create a sense of fear without relying on screamers, instead focusing on psychological tension and uncertainty.
